Controlled-environment equipment
Stainless Steel Workbenches for Controlled Environments
A workbench in a cleanroom or GMP-regulated facility is part of your contamination control strategy. CleanroomLink supplies engineered stainless steel workbenches designed around material integrity, hygienic fabrication, surface finish, validation, and site acceptance requirements.
Do not evaluate a supplier on price and dimensions alone. Weld quality, roughness, corrosion resistance, cleanability, load stability, and supporting documentation can directly affect SAT approval and regulatory readiness.

What to inspect before you buy
Procurement, engineering, QA, and compliance teams should confirm the following points before approving a stainless steel workbench supplier or manufacturer.
Material grade
304 is standard for many dry cleanrooms. 316L is suited to pharmaceutical, corrosive, high-humidity, and frequent sterilization environments.
Welding integrity
Confirm whether joints are fully TIG welded, ground, and polished rather than relying on spot welds that can leave contamination-trapping gaps.
Surface finish
Ra roughness and the selected brushed, polished, or electropolished finish affect cleanability and should match the target ISO class.
Hygienic geometry
Coved or radiused corners reduce dead zones. Uncontrolled 90-degree internal angles can accumulate contaminants and complicate sanitation.
02 / Performance Specs
Engineering for compliance and daily reliability
Our approach combines cleanable construction with structural stability for processing equipment, inspection tools, and precision instruments.
Material and corrosion resistance
High-grade stainless steel options include 304 and 316L. 316L provides stronger resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion where chemical exposure or high-humidity sterilization is expected.
Joint and surface treatment
Fully welded joints can be polished to blend with the surrounding base metal, helping remove microscopic cavities and support cross-contamination control.
Load management
Reinforced substructures, adjustable leveling feet, or heavy-duty antistatic casters help maintain rigidity and stability under equipment loads. Final load capacity is confirmed by model.
03 / Dimensional Specs
Optimize the workbench for your footprint
Space, operator reach, airflow, and under-bench clearance all influence the right configuration. We provide modular units as well as custom work islands with integrated storage.
Height
Standard 850 mm or custom height for seated and standing operations.
Width and depth
Sized for operator reach and cleanroom airflow patterns.
Clearance
Reserved for under-bench equipment, services, and legroom.

Compare specifications before requesting a quote
Each field affects fabrication complexity, documentation, freight, or lead time. Items marked for confirmation should be locked during the RFQ stage rather than assumed from a product description.
| Field | Specifications / Options | RFQ impact |
|---|---|---|
| 主体材质 / Material | SUS 304 / SUS 316L | 316L increases material cost; confirm grade by environment. |
| 表面处理 / Surface finish | Brushed / Polished / Electropolished | Electropolishing adds process time; Ra target to be confirmed. |
| 尺寸 / Dimensions | Custom L × W × H | Standard sizes may reduce lead time; final drawing required. |
| 承载 / Load capacity | 100 kg to 500 kg+ | Higher capacity may require heavier gauge and reinforcement. |
| Configuration | Open / Shelves / Drawers / Cabinets | Storage complexity affects fabrication and cleaning access. |
| Tabletop structure | Flat / Backsplash / Edge lip | Edge treatments require specialized bending; confirm hygienic profile. |
| 脚轮 / 调节脚 | Adjustable feet / ESD casters | Mobility, floor loading, and grounding requirements to be confirmed. |
| ESD performance | Conductive / Standard | Grounding components and test requirements available on request. |
| 洁净等级 / Cleanliness | ISO Class 5 to 8 | Finish and inspection requirements depend on target class. |
| Corrosion resistance | Depends on material and process chemistry | Chemical exposure and sterilization cycle to be confirmed at RFQ. |
| Customization | Ports / Sink / Grounding / Storage / Custom geometry | Custom engineering may affect drawing approval and lead time. |
| Installation | Flat-packed / Fully assembled | Assembly choice changes shipping volume and site handling. |
05 / Compliance Specs
Documentation for QA and validation review
CleanroomLink aligns the design and documentation package with the requirements of your target market and facility. Specific certificates, test reports, and acceptance criteria should be confirmed during RFQ.
Material certificates
Mill test reports verifying the chemical composition of 304 or 316L are available as required.
Surface roughness reports
Ra verification can be provided upon request, subject to the agreed finish and inspection scope.
Standards alignment
Designs can be reviewed against relevant GMP, FDA, or ISO expectations. No certificate or test result should be assumed without project confirmation.
06 / Customization
Beyond the catalog: custom workbench engineering
A catalog unit may not fit your floor plan, process route, equipment footprint, or validation protocol. As a solution integrator and custom stainless steel workbenches manufacturer, CleanroomLink can translate an existing drawing or functional brief into a manufacturable configuration.
- Pass-through ports for cables or gases
- Integrated sink modules for wet labs
- ESD grounding points for electronics
- Custom drawers, cabinets, and shelves
07 / Use Cases
Applications across regulated production environments
Pharmaceutical
GMP-focused 316L tables with hygienic corners for sterile and controlled areas.
Electronics
ESD-safe workstations with conductive surfaces and grounding options for component assembly.
Medical devices
Stable stainless work surfaces for cleanroom inspection, assembly, and packaging.
Food processing
Corrosion-resistant, easy-to-sanitize surfaces for preparation and processing areas.
When stainless steel is the right choice
Stainless steel workbenches are the stronger fit when cleanability, chemical resistance, hygienic welding, and validation documentation matter. For general warehouse handling or non-controlled dry work, a basic industrial table may be more economical; the correct boundary depends on your process and compliance obligations.
08 / FAQ
Project procurement questions
How do we lock specifications for our ISO class and validation plan?
Share the target ISO class, process chemistry, cleaning or sterilization cycle, load, dimensions, ESD needs, and documentation requirements. We use these inputs to confirm material, finish, weld treatment, geometry, and inspection scope before quotation.
Can you provide a sample for site approval?
For larger projects, a pre-production sample or prototype can be arranged for review of weld quality, stability, finish, dimensions, and cleanability before bulk production.
How do you manage batch delivery and installation?
Units can be supplied flat-packed to reduce freight volume or fully assembled for simpler site deployment. Batch schedules, installation guidance, and on-site support are available for facility projects, subject to scope confirmation.
What happens if our specifications change during the project?
Changes are most manageable during the initial design phase. Notify us as soon as possible so drawings, materials, cost, and lead time can be reviewed before production release.
Can you support continuous supply after the first order?
Yes. We can retain approved drawings, configuration details, and project requirements to support repeat orders and ongoing supply. Reconfirming revision level and inspection requirements at each RFQ helps maintain consistency.
